BATON ROUGE, La. – Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Louisiana (Louisiana Blue) today announced that President and Chief Executive Officer Bryan Camerlinck plans to retire after 33 years of service in the Blue Cross and Blue Shield system, including a decade in executive leadership roles at Louisiana Blue. Camerlinck will remain in his role as CEO through the end of 2026, ensuring a smooth leadership transition.
The Louisiana Blue Board of Directors will initiate a formal search for the Company’s next CEO, considering internal and external candidates.
“It has been a privilege to lead Louisiana Blue and serve the people of our state,” said Camerlinck. “I am incredibly proud of the progress our team has made — strengthening our commitment to Louisiana, improving the experience for our customers and navigating significant industry challenges. While I am looking forward to spending more time with my family, my commitment to improving healthcare and communities will continue through various board and volunteer service in the years ahead.”
Camerlinck was named CEO in 2024, following roles as Chief Financial Officer and Chief Operating Officer, at a time when the organization needed stability and a renewed focus on remaining a local, independent health plan. “Bryan stepped into the CEO role with deep knowledge of the organization and a steady hand during a period of enormous change in healthcare,” said Judy Miller, Chair of the Louisiana Blue Board of Directors. “His leadership has been defined by thoughtful decision making, a clear focus on Louisiana and an unwavering commitment to our customers. The Board is deeply grateful for Bryan’s service and is committed to a thoughtful and deliberate search for the next leader of Louisiana Blue.”
