BATON ROUGE, La. – Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Louisiana (Louisiana Blue) has released its annual Community Partnerships Report. Highlights share the impact of Louisiana Blue employees, the company’s foundation and hundreds of nonprofit partners working together in communities across the state.

Notable community support from the past year includes:

38,000 hours volunteered by the company’s employees, supporting community projects and providing hands-on and pro bono support for Louisiana nonprofits.

$3.2 million in donations and sponsorships from Louisiana Blue and its employees, supporting hundreds of nonprofits delivering more than 13 million services (health screenings, checkups, meals, etc.) to Louisianians.

22 grants totaling $3.8 million the Louisiana Blue Foundation awarded to support programs focused on improving health outcomes in Louisiana.

“Our employees continuously bring our mission to life in communities across Louisiana, showing up with purpose and a true desire to make a difference,” said Michael Tipton, president of the Louisiana Blue Foundation and vice president of the company’s Community Relations Department.

“At the same time, our nonprofit partners are leading critical work to address some of our state’s biggest challenges. Their impact is both immediate and long-term, and we’re proud to be part of that work,” he added.

For the seventh year in a row, Louisiana Blue was named as one of The Civic 50, a list of the most community-minded companies in America, curated by the prestigious Points of Light Foundation.
